SIXTY Sees: Homeshake “Nothing Could Be Better”

A warning: it takes a minute to settle into the absolute strangeness that is this video. For Homeshake’s track “Nothing Could Be Better,” Detroit-based designer and filmmaker Steve Smith created a playground of amorphous blobs capable of moves worthy of an R&B music video circa 1993. The result is a cast of incomprehensible shapes (one could be described as a brown gummy bear left in water too long; another, like the bend of an ear lobe as seen through a kaleidoscope) that feel simultaneously sexualized and neutered of sexuality. A confusing—though thoroughly enjoyable—watch. Enjoy.
