SIXTY Listens: Jessica Pratt “Back, Baby”

  • Share

There is an elfin quality to the work and the woman that is Jessica Pratt, bangs hanging low over a face that recalls both model Jaime King and Drew Barrymore in their earlier days. With delicate vocals that often sound like an instrument mid-tune-up, the Los Angeles-based singer/songwriter is a master at modern folk with a nod to old masters like Karen Dalton and Vashti Bunyan. Pratt debuted in 2013 with an album of songs recorded back in 2007—a stroke of belated luck following her discovery by Tim Presley of the band White Fence. Pratt has been an underground cult favorite ever since and, on January 26th, fans can look forward to the release of her follow-up album, On Your Own Love Again.
