6 L.A. Juice Shops to Get Your Health Fix At

  • Share

Yeah, we know juicing is a key part of that Los Angeles cliché: trim and toned, yoga mat under arm, green juice in hand. And while it might be easy to poke fun at the West Coast juicing lifestyle, it’s even easier to push the stereotypes aside and drink up. Below, we’ve selected six of our favorite spots to drink the proverbial Kool-Aid at, from a juice bar that opened long before juice was “a thing” to some of this city’s more newfangled shops.

Beverly Hills Juice

At Beverly Hills Juice, you can sip your Green Genie and feel like a part of juicing history. This juice shop has been open since the 1970s, and besides the location and the name, not much else has changed. Order the classics here, like the Big Ten (carrot, beet, celery, parsley, spinach, kale, romaine), or a simple carrot juice. And you can never go wrong with their signature concoction, The Banana Manna, which is juice blended with banana and a choice of sunflower, almond, or cacao.

Little West

Before a recent rebrand, Little West was known as Clover, a local juice outfit which started with a blender in a Beachwood Canyon kitchen. Now, you can find their bottles all over the city. With clever names and a spectrum of colors, Little West’s juices and nut milks have a loyal following. The spicy Gingersnap (tons of ginger, lemon, apple) and their line of CBD-infused fruity bevs are all pretty much celebrities at this point.

The Punchbowl

The Punchbowl abides by the holy trinity of juice: raw, vegan, and all-organic. Off the main streets of Los Feliz Village is this funky hole-in-the-hall temple of health. Green juice at The Punchbowl is a little more exotic than at the other juice bars. Instead of the usual spinach-romaine-kale-parsley combo, you might be sipping on roman chicory, chard, and fennel. If you’re not sure what to order, consider the person behind the counter your personal juice guru.

When you think of a next-gen juice shop, the minimalist image you’ve got in your mind is likely Earthbar. The company has a cult-like following among the celebrity set (hello, Dakota Johnson), drawn to their multiple locations for their filling smoothies, cold-pressed juices, and wellness shots. And in even tastier news: their Santa Monica Blvd. outpost is very close to SIXTY Beverly Hills.

Nekter Juice Bar

If you’re planning on hitting the Hammer Museum for something cultural, swing by Nekter Juice Bar for a sip and a snack. (All that culture consumption can really burn the cals.) In addition to fresh juices, this place has knock-out acai bowls and smoothies infused with very “now” ingredients like turmeric, cashew milk, and cacao.

Moon Juice

If the other juice bars on this list sounded a little out of this world to you, take the Moon Juice name literally. Don’t get us wrong: there are plenty of accessible juices on the menu at Moon Juice’s Venice, WeHo, and Silver Lake locations, but you’ll also see items like Sex Dust, tocotrienols, and digestive enzymes on the menu. Hey, when in Rome…
