A SIXTY Guide to New Year’s Eve

  • Share

Out with the old, in with the gold. This year’s been a doozy, and now—thankfully—it’s time to put it behind us. The future awaits, and it’s called 2019. What will it bring? No one knows. What we do know is that New Year’s Eve is set to be a real banger. Whether you’re in L.A., Miami, or New York City, we’ve cherry-picked six events for you to sink your teeth into. Ready, set, celebrate.

LOS ANGELES

Ring in the New Year at SIXTY Beverly Hills with a feast and a fête. Start the evening downstairs at Caulfield’s Bar and Dining Room, where we’ll be cheffing up decadently festive dishes like lobster bisque, filet mignon, and pink champagne cheesecake. The full menu is available for your perusal here. After fueling up, head upstairs to Above 60, our rooftop lounge, where you’ll be treated to an open bar and sounds by Bradley Gentz. There will be a photobooth to document the evening and a midnight toast when the clock strikes 12. For more details, click here.

Remember Dita Von Teese? While not in the press as much much as she was in the Marilyn Mason-era early aughts, the burlesque dancer still delights. This New Year’s Eve, she’ll be slipping into—and out of-—“something a little more comfortable” at the Orpheum Theater in Downtown L.A. There, on that historic stage, Teese and a team of fellow burlesque all-stars will twirl, slink, and dazzle your cares away. Tickets available here .

MIAMI

It’s about to go off at Nautilus, a SIXTY Hotel. Our Nautilus Cabana Club will host two seatings for a NYE feast, one at 7 p.m. and the other at 9 p.m. Reservations, which are available here, include access to the open bar, which kicks off at 9 p.m. and runs through a champagne toast at midnight. Our Moonlight Disco party will be taking place poolside, complete with live DJ sets from Julian Cavin and Nano DJ, special performances, and a countdown with Latin Grammy-nominated producer Mr. Pauer. Transport you and yours to someplace magical at the NightGarden exhibition at Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden in Coral Gables. A delight to children and adults alike, this year’s NightGarden is the perfect fam-friendly opportunity to celebrate the New Year. There will be music, party favors, and much more. Doors open at 7 p.m, with a firework display at 10 p.m. Tickets are available here.

NEW YORK CITY

Make Believe, our dreamy pink lounge atop SIXTY LES, has been pulling out all the stops this year and, on the last day of 2018, they’re going out with a bang. DJ Wonder, who you might know from Sway in the Morning, will have the soundtrack going. Booze will be flowing, of course. Tickets include an open bar from 9 p.m. to 10 p.m. Join us for an evening beyond your wildest imagination. Tickets are available here. If you’d like to make it extra special and spring for table service, email jeremy@socialight.tv for info and reservations.

NEW YORK CITY

You could join the masses in Time Square and watch the ball drop IRL, or you could keep it cozy and join us at SIXTY SoHo’s Gordon Bar. It’ll be an elegant champagne affair, with music by DJ IC3 and a special performance by—actually, we’re going to keep this part a secret.
